Waiting

It was a day where I literally felt like I we waiting for the rain. We have needed it for so long. It finally came, and now the windows are wide open and the fresh air is good!


I've had a lot of things on my mind lately, and I'm not ready to blog about it yet...but when the time is right, I will. It's been distracting me and making life a little hard. So with that, time will allow me to share.
For now, I'm going to finish this strange movie I'm watching with Ryan, and enjoy the cool air!

Helmets for two

Ryan informed me today he'd be buying Adrian and I helmets to wear. Adrian hit the corner of his eye on our bed frame and added more injury to his face! Oh well.


Me. I took my forehead to the van door when putting groceries away. Instant headache and good sized goose egg.


I'm getting excited for our weekend! My moms coming down and we are surprising the girls with a movie date to finding dory! I can't wait!

I'm mean

So Iz had a friend over today to spend the night. They both seemed to just argue and bicker back and forth and tattle all day. I was running out of ideas on what to do to get them to be happy and play.
I lost that battle and decided they needed a break, so (after texting ideas) both moms agreed we'd try the over nighter again another night. End result-I'm the mean mom. It was very hard for me to do it, I almost cried with Iz at one point, but I explained to her that one day she will get why I did it. This mom gig is hard, and situations like today are even harder.
It's a good thing she has the tooth fairy visit to look forward to in the morning! She was so giddy after losing her tooth!


The girl tries every single fiber of my being, but lord I love her something fierce!!

Train wreck

So Adrian had a somewhat better night but it was still very rough. He just couldn't get comfortable. He did ok for parts of the day, but was still quite fussy. I couldn't get him to eat and by 4 had only had at most 6 oz of fluids all day!

Lost and out of ideas, we headed to see our chiropractor, dr Jason. He's amazing. He got a really good adjustment on his neck so hopefully that relieves some or all of the pressure in his ears.

Tonight after dinner we stepped outside to play for a few minutes. Viola trying to be helpful, tried to pick Adrian up and dropped him. Hard. Lots of screaming tears and blood later, he's ok, but a little banged up.


As rough as it looks, I was more worried about his lip. It bled a lot inside but luckily his tooth didn't go through! He had this bottle complete with some Advil so hopefully he'll be cozy tonight! He's been out for almost 90 minutes now! Fingers, toes and eyes crossed!!

Eat please

The frustrating thing about being a sick baby is not eating. I've been lucky to get 8 oz of milk into Adrian today. The other 6 were apple juice with his meds. It's been a HUGE battle though. He kicks and screams at me. I finally tried puffs around lunch time-and amazingly he ate quite a few. Hopefully each day is better!



Iz spent the day with her friend Sydney and went to union park in Des Moines. She did the wading pool and carousel!

Sick baby

My poor Adrian is sick today. His ear is infected, and I feel like he's gotten worse as the day has gone on. He is beside himself. I haven't been able to set him down. If I do, he screams. He's been in and out of sleep all day, and I just hope he sleeps tonight. I'm so tired! And that he feels a little better tomorrow.


It's been one of the longest days I've had in quite some time!

Baby pool

Henry had his own idea of a baby pool today.


This kid is all boy and all dirty play. I love it though. It's fun seeing how different boys and girls are!


This kid spiked s fever after his long nap. I really hope it's just his tooth cutting and not his ears. I don't want to deal with another ear infection!

Homemade

I made homemade pancakes for the first time today. Right. I know. I'm almost 30 and I just made my first ever homemade batch of pancakes. Oh well.
They were delicious!

Day of rest

Today we lounged inside. Everyone was lazy and we needed to be. I didn't even take a picture. I did however, come across an old pic of Iz on the Milo 4th of July Facebook page from two years ago! A professional one too!!

Father's Day

Well we celebrated Father's Day at Ryan's parents house today. All the kiddos played outside in the pools and going down the "water slides". It was fun. I ate WAY too much food.


The kids got Ryan a huge coffee mug. He loves it-even if he doesn't out right say it. He used it this morning!


They also helped him cook the dish he took for lunch. They loved it.


Lots and lots of water play!!

Date night

Ryan and I had a date night! It's been needed for far to long! We went to a bike night in St Charles. It ended up being s bust, so we went to the Sports Page for a drink and dessert and then rode around Indy! It was fun s d breezy!!!



It's quite hard to pose with a helmet on! Oh well! Safety first!

What's next

Today was the ultimate what's going to happen next kind of day. First this morning it was the snake in the garage. So gross!!!



Viola got pushed off a bike. She literally has road rash on her upper back now. She's also decided it's ok to poop in the backyard. So gross, too!! I'm so frustrated. She got poop on the slide, and I'm at a loss for words.
Henry's in an I'm going to keep taking my diaper off phase, and it's usually always when he's outside!! Gah! The neighbors must love that.
Adrian biffed it outside-natural to happen. He's ok.


Oh and he had a massive blow out this morning too. Haha


The most exciting part of the day! Watching the garbage man with friends next door!


I'm exhausted. Ready for bed and a very large drink. I just have to find one. Haha

Twinning

Tonight I realized the boys have a matching pair of jammies. At first Henry wanted nothing to do with his, but he went back and got them.



The other day when I mowed, I got huge blisters. I've had these shoes since February. My heals are hurting now and I'm annoyed. Haha

Let's swim

So I snagged a new pool for the kids today at target. It just happens to be payday from Itworks also! They picked up the tab.


They played from 1030 until nearly 3 this afternoon. Huge hit!!

Ten months

I was thinking tomorrow was the 14th. Turns out I'm wrong. Adrian is ten months old today. I can't believe it. That went so fast! I can't believe he'll be one in two months!



He's come so far. Granted we had a very uneventful Nicu stay, any preemie has to still fight harder to achieve their milestones and Adrian is rocking it this past week! He's blowing us away! Army crawling, planks, trying to pull up and now is crawling! All in a week! Our aea visit today blew miss Julie away! She'll be back after his birthday and then we'll probably be done with our visits. Unless something arises, which I don't see happening!!


So as you can see, he's just a tad bit bigger than his preemie outfit he came home in!! My miracle man!!

Trying

We've decided Adrian is an official crawler now. Ryan made him stand tonight. He did pretty good! Maybe 20 seconds like this!

Powerhouse

Adrian's just really trying so hard to pull up on everything! It's insane. It's been one week of arming crawling, sitting himself back up and trying to pull up. Now today he seems to be figuring out the tuck a leg under and crawl/scoot! He's blowing my mind!

Certified fly killer

So Ryan took Henry and Iz with him to the store today, and Viola and Adrian stayed with me at home. Adrian was mid nap when we saw a couple of flies. I taught Viola my way of killing them!

Shoppers in training

So we decided to come to my moms today to stay over night. Our ac is finally fixed and so we'll have a nice cook house to go home to! So happy!
We did some grocery shopping and the kids got a lesson 101...not super easy when one only wants to run! He shall remain nameless. Haha



No, they all did a good job!!!

Visitors

My mom came for a visit today. The kids were very excited!
Adrian got a new activity cube from her!



The most exciting part of our day...the van got fixed so I have ac again!!! Woohoo!!

Program time

We started our summer reading programs at the library today. Adrian had a BLAST! He loved the egg shakers-as you can see!


I also allowed Adrian's to gnaw on some licorice. I sat with him the entire time. Oh-he LOVED it! Prefect for teething. Nothing was swallowed! Which was good.


The big kids had an absolute blast with the slip and slide. Iz was mad when I turned it off for the day. There's all summer though! ALL summer!

Kid vacation

So Iz has been with her friend Sydney all day and is spending the night. Hopefully she'll actually stay over this time. She went to a splash pad in dsm! I'm sure she'll beg me to go! And I'm ok with that.

Adulting

Ryan and I totally rocked it today. Ok-mainly Ryan, but I helped some!!
He cleaned out the gutters and drains outside! He pulled out all the old shrubs (roots and all-and those things were huge!!).



Like I said-HUGE!!


And I mainly helped rake down and level out the dirt...the front is really starting to come along!!!


And to end the day-Ryan threw a bench together in like 15 minutes for the porch!
