Tree cutting

I didn't get any pics, but I've been going crazy at cutting branches off our crab apple tree. I do not like it. Not one bit. I don't care what people say. Your yard isn't covered in tiny annoying, baby grabbing, eating and staining pains. To me it's ugly too. We have more dead branches than live. I hope Ryan wants to help cut down more.
Oh and by the way. My awesome tree climbing skills I once had as a kid-gone. So sad.

Surprise

Ryan dyed my hair last night. He insisted. I've been on the fence for a while, but never told him. He sent me a text yesterday telling me he was doing it. So I let him.

How many husbands do that-let alone wanting to! I'm a lucky girl. We got pretty giggly.

And yes. We did my brows too. That was the most shocking part for me. Being able to actually see them.

Me and my girl.

Relief

As terrible as it sounds to say I'm glad Adrian and Viola had ear infections-I am. I'm glad I have meds now to finally get them relief. Especially Adrian who has been suffering for nearly two weeks now. Poor kid needs a huge break. He's medicated now and we slapped on the orajel on his giant gums. Those molars are pure torture for him. I'm Hoping he sleeps some what better tonight.

Same goes for Viola too. She woke up and told me her ear hurt and asked to see the dr. How does a mom say no to that? I couldn't. So here's to being on the mend-finally!

First pic

Got Viola's first school pics back today! I'm very pleased!!

And my mom thinks she looks a lot like me from my first grade pic! I'm still unsure.

Farm

Spent the afternoon at the farm. Kids played. Kids ate. Kids watched Ryan launch fireworks. Kids loved it. We had fun!

Finished

Two projects are finally finished!
First the swing set! It rocks. The last thing Ryan is going to add is a rope climbing wall. That will be fun.

Ryan helped me finish my fall wreath for outside too! I'm in love with it!!

We went to the Log Cabin Days parade in Indy this morning. We were with the whole family and that was fun!

Bigger is better

We finally have a table with SIX chairs! I'm so happy. Thanks to my brother and sister-in-law! They got a newer and bigger table so we now have their old one! It looks much better for our space and I'm just glad to finally have six chairs!!!

I had a maddening day. This girl gives me a huge run for my money. I know that makes her just like me, but good lord I fear her attitude when she's a teen. She is a peach but a hot sauce too.

I'm exhausted today. Adrian's been coughing a lot during the night and not getting the best sleep which makes me not sleep. I hope tonight's better. I snoozed in the chair this afternoon with him. I got a good dose of energy from it and mowed! It feels better yard wise-not heat wise. I'm ready for a freeze to kill bugs!
Ok rant over.

Hot

I'm so tired of the heat!!!
We got ice cream today. Adrian loved the cup!

Steroids

Viola landed herself some steroids for the next five days for croup.
Hooray.
Adrian for checked too for his cough. So far he's ok. He had an absolute blast with the egg shakers at the library this morning. D

Doctor

Henry played doctor with me. He was very into making sure I was ok. Which is good.
Adrian has a fever again and a cough and Viola woke up with croup. I really hope she has a good night and doesn't end up needing a steroid. I DONOT want to go back to the dr again!

Upgrading

Oh man! We upgraded in two areas today!! We found an awesome couch and chair on a swap site and got an awesome deal. So we majorly upgraded compared to what we had.

I'm in love with the color. Now I need to find some good pillows!

Then Ryan spent the afternoon putting together the rest of the swing set. It's coming along amazingly well. The swings aren't up just yet because he got the wrong sized bolts. Easy fix for tomorrow.

We have our very own park now!!

So, so thankful for more progress!!

Cousin time

Mom came down with Ava Jo today. We're having an over night. They have been busy playing in and out all afternoon and evening.
Mom got them all matching jammies and outfits (for the girls anyway). They're all very excited.

Adrian wasn't having any of this. He was actually not happy and yet managed to look as if he was happy.

Ryan built a tire swing. He tried to go about it this way the first time. He ended up borrowing a very tall ladder from the neighbors (thanks Don!). That option worked much better.

So now the kids are happy and excited. We just really need that water to dry up! Once we get the yard torn up and sloped right with the drainage it won't be an issue! Hooray for fun projects at home for once!!

Man-a-live

Today was just a wash of a day. I finally got a bit of cleaning done even though I feel like I have so much more to do.
Iz is on her fall break now, so I'm only busing Viola to and from school for the next three weeks. It's been a strange adjustment having her in school now!
Adrian is at Ryan's parents tonight so it's been extra quiet this evening.
Iz must have gotten this pic of Henry. Poor kid is lost without Adrian here. He keeps asking about him and sobbed and sobbed when he left. None of the kids know my mom is coming tomorrow though so that'll be a fun surprise!

Randoms

I got a different color for the other chair today and I love it. I'm very pleased with myself. I also sprayed the little bench Ryan threw together. It's a dark grey. It looks cozy out there now!

This was how I found Henry this morning when I had to go in and wake him up. I hate doing it. Poor kids legs were asleep though and he couldn't walk! It was funny...but not to him.

Adrian's been super playful today. Thank goodness considering last night. He slept great which was good! I was happy. He had fun tackling Henry after his bath.

And tonight Iz was in a mood. They all were since we got to bed a tad bit later than normal. She set this on my seat and I found it when I sat back down from doing something. Made my night!

Injured

So my night went nothing as planned. At all. It was actually going really well! I was sitting down to eat with Adrian. He was having pasta. I made a frozen pizza. My neighbor Jill had actually fed my kids dinner since they were playing together. They had pizza too! So that happening was a blessing in disguise!

As I'm Adrian is pushing his little feet against the table. He's been doing it a lot lately and we're trying to correct him. This time he pushed too hard and went straight back. I couldn't get up fast enough! Crack goes the back of his head. Not ever having been around an actual head injury before I asked Jill if I should take him in (she's a nurse), and pretty much we agreed it was hard to judge. So in we went.

Luckily we didn't end up getting anything. His dr was on at urgent care tonight and he told me that we can do staples. It will close it with next to no scar in the end, BUT it's a lot more painful ten days out when they gotta come back out. It's pretty superficial so we just decided to keep it clean and out neosporin on it. So now we're rocking to bed. He has Tylenol in him and hopefully he sleeps as well as he normally does!

Thank you Jill for watching the kids till my in-laws got to my place and thank you Grandma Annie and Pap Charlie for keeping track of my big kids!

Conferences

Iz had her conferences tonight. She's doing so awesome! She is way above where she needs to be at! Specifically with her reading!

As you can see the higher numbers is where she is at versus where they want them to be at by this time. Pretty proud of my big girl!

Curb side

This morning when leaving for school our neighbors had thrown out this very nice wagon so we snatched it up!

They also had these chairs. I only took 2/4. I'm giving them a facelift.

So from green to yellow. I ran outta paint. I can't decide if I should do both yellow or two different colors. Anywho-it was an exciting morning.

15 years later

Please read tonight. It's kinda long but you'll like it.

I find today to be funny. Not in the sense to say that what happened 15 years ago was funny. It wasn't. It was terrible. What's funny is we all are SO caught up in paying attention to what our possible next "leaders" are doing that I believe we have all lost sight totally of a very tragic anniversary.

I was stuck on this history channel all day watching old coverage. I'm every bit intrigued by all the footage. I won't lie when I say it fascinates me.

However, I don't believe I saw one thing saying what Mr. Obama was doing to commemorate today. That makes me slightly sad. I personally do not care if you like him or not-he is your commander in chief and I believe his doings are far more important than that of the others who are trying to win his shoes.

There are thousands of families still grieving and crying. Thousands still shattered. We as a nation were all banded as one that terrible day. And now?

Yet here we are 15 years later. A nation that is nearly Totally divided. Divided by party, by race, by ethnicity, by sexuality, by religion, and by nearly our very being. It makes me SO sad trying to raise my kids to love one and all. Trying to explain to a six year old what this and that means.

I hope that for just a few moments today someone took time to remember what our nation is really about. We're all United. Today. This day unites us all. No matter what you are or where you come from.

Share if you want. My mission as a mom is to show my kids to love. Love everyone. Stand together. Be good. Be a friend. I hope you all can do the same.

Ps-I was in gym class. A high school freshman. Sarah Freese came in and told our class what had happened. I was naive. I had no idea what the towers were yet. I got to science class that afternoon and was hit with a reality I'll never forget. Utterly shocked.

Fire

I tried my hand at frying chicken tonight. It was going ok-ish until the end. When I started a stove fire. Yep. This is why I don't cook. Crap like that happens to me. Then hardly anyone are my food tonight. I failed. Big time. Oh well!

Just Randoms from my day.

I love getting pics of Iz doing school work.

And yes. Henry did dress like this to pick Iz up at the bus stop. I know. You're so jealous!!
