Message to parents

My night was 200% turned upside down in a matter of seconds tonight.
After picking Iz up from school and not even being home five minutes we had injruies.
All I did was take out the trash to the driveway.
Next thing I know, Viola is screaming, Isabelle is saying sorry, Henry is pooping and all I think is, "What the hell just happened!"
Here's what happened from a child's view: mommy took out the trash! What's mommy doing?! Can we come out, too?! Oh, close the door? Ok...SLAM!
Ok, in all seriousness, it was a total wrong place, wrong time for Vi, and Iz felt terrible. I was slightly nervous (we all remember our last serious hand injury), and alone.  Her three fingers were huge, blue and cut up some. Thank goodness for awesome friends and neighbors! Without hesitation Jessamy came over and took Iz and Henry to her place! Thank you again Jess!!!
Vi and I went to urgent care. She did awesome. Took her X-rays like a pro and got hooked up with smarties and a sucker!
Good news-NO broken bones!
So my advice is this: when you have more than one kid be prepared for anything. Nothing really surprises me anymore. Kids keep your life alive, busy and full of unexpected twists that you never see coming! You take the punch when they happen and hop back on the horse! I'm never bored, even if I think I am- I'm not; I never get a break; I'm exhausted; but I trudge through! We all do.
She did great at resting, but decided running circles tonight was more fun!  We had a better first half of the day!
Lots of coloring at the library!
So, if you ever doubt yourself-don't. You've got this!

Until tomorrow!!
