Friends and cuts

We hung out in Ankeny today with Jessamy and her girls. Their new house is really nice! It was so awesome to just have normal mom talk too! I loved that part! Thanks Jess!

This afternoon both girls got hair cuts. Iz wasn't going to get one, but she informed me she wanted her hair to the middle of her shoulders.

They both look much better!!

I also can't believe Vi starts shook tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Sneak peak

Viola had her preschool open house tonight. She got a sneak peak of her classroom and what's there. Also, we found her locker!

She may look excited, but she was quite grumpy tonight. Pretty much all afternoon. She's exhausted. She played hard this morning!

My wanna be

Adrian's discovered he can reach the piano keys if he is on his very tippy toes. It's pretty cute to watch him stretch and react to the sound!

Henry decided to partake in the "reaching" department.

Today was one of those "what's next" days from the kids. Adrian had a terrible night last night. I got maybe three good hours of sleep. I'm exhausted today so I also haven't had the most patience either. I'm trying hard though. I hope tonight's better!
For now I'm all snuggled up in the chair with the boys rocking to bed!

More Reno

Ryan and I were busy today!
He knocked out more of the wall and beams by the stairs in the basement.

I got busy and busted out all the tiles that are where the bathroom used to be. We let the kids try but it was too hard and took too much time.

Yep. I did all that. I left like four for Ryan to hit. It took lots of sweat and work, but it was good therapy! Just another step closer to getting our basement done!

Unexpected

We found an amazing piano for free today! Iz has been begging for lessons and now we're well on our way! It's in our house now and we're all excited about it!!

Hooray!!!!

A ok

Took Adrian to the doc. He checked out ok. I was kind of surprised considering his fever keeps going up. It's been up to 102.8 now. I was told it's probably a combination of the shots he had last week with his FOUR molars that are cutting. Needless to say I haven't been able to keep up with anything today because he just screams. I'm pooped and my arms are tired!

101.8

Fevers running in our house again today with our baby boy. I feel bad. His molars are pushing so hard on top he has big purple bruises. I hope that's all the fever is from. He's been super cuddly, so I'll take it.

Iz has the laptops in her classroom this week. I got to see this on her seesaw folder from her teacher. SO cool! I love that we can do this.

We're starting another project. It's out back and Ryan was able to get this all for free. It's not done, but the color was wrong for the buyer so they sent it back! I'll take free! More pics to come when it's done!

And yes. He was legit passed out!

I colored today for therapy. Really though I colored it and sent it to Jessamy! It was to brighten up her crazy day! I'm SO excited to have her back in Iowa!!!!!

Playtime

We played outside. Lots. Again. I tried Adrian on the kiddie sea saw. He loves it.

The only thing I'm really struggling with is Viola and her always wanting to eat. She tells me every ten minutes she's hungry. I need ideas for high protein, kid friendly foods to keep her full! I'm exhausted of telling her no! Shoot me your thoughts!

Monday's

Today was a total Monday. Adrian's cutting a molar so he was up for what seemed most of the night. He didn't nap well so needless to say his day was crabby! Henry woke up last night too which he hasn't done in a while. And Viola. She's her own kind of sassy today. I was ready to go outside away from her because I got so frustrated with her attitude. I'm telling you all this so you know it's normal to feel like you're going bonkers.

We did meet her preschool teacher this morning. She so excited and ready to go! I am as well. Miss Linda is excited to have Viola as well!
We played and played outside tonight and that was refreshing! Hopefully Advil helps Adrian tonight and we all sleep better!

Monkey bars

I know boys are busier than girls and are more accident prone. It's not really been the case in our house...until now.
It seems like Henry is always getting hurt. Today was no different.
Playing outside and not in my sight I heard his famous "I'm hurt scream/cry". Walking with Iz she tells me he tried to do the monkey bars but fell hitting his nose. He had a small mark but seemed ok. He's still fine but his mark is a little bigger now.

It's pretty much his whole nose. Who knows if it'll get worse! Ha. Yesterday he cut the corner of his eye by hitting it with our juice pitcher. Kids got it in for an injury record!

Maybe I'll buy bubble wrap. Haha
He sure was cute this morning though!

And Adrian loves to lay on his belly during bath time now!

Party

Today we celebrated Adrian's frost birthday with family! He wasn't too interested in opening presents or eating cake, but he had fun playing and showing off his "I can walk with a walker" skills!

His brother and sisters helped with opening his gifts.

Yes. He decided to just dive face first!

We had cake everywhere! He went straight to the sink for a bath!

X-rays

Today went nothing like I thought. I had planned to get laundry done and put away and clean the house a bit for Adrian's bday party tomorrow and mow. Well I got two loads washed. Our mower crapped out. Luckily we have awesome neighbors and friends who let us borrow theirs. I got the yard done tonight.
Viola gave our day a big interruption this afternoon.
That beast in my ring there...she choked on one and told me she swallowed it. I was thinking ok, not a huge deal she will poop it out. Then my conscious took over so I asked Jill (she's been my savior today) and my mom and they said we should go. That's when Viola said she could still feel it. I'm not sure if she was really or if her throat was just irritated.

Anyway...she had her belly and throat X-rayed to make sure it wasn't in her. Luckily it didn't show up. So as to whether or not she actually swallowed it is now up in the air. Oh well. Time will tell!

We got several comments on our new foot attire. At least they kept themselves entertained!

Oh and ps-Ryan got another mower for us from his grandpa...just needs a few new wheels and a little tlc, but we're back in business!

Messages to heaven

Isabelle is an old soul. She talks frequently about my grandma J and says how much she misses her.
This morning she asked me how could we get a letter to her. I explained that we can talk out loud to them like they're in the room with us because they can hear us. Then I got the idea to send a balloon with a message on it up to her. Iz loved that.

I posted a video of this as well.

The other big news of our day was Adrian had his one year check up. He was 20 pounds and 29 inches long. He was at the 25th percent for his actual age but if we go by his adjusted age on the preemie chart he is at 50 percent. He's doing fabulous. The shots killed him. He hated it. We went straight to the chiropractor after and he crashed coming home. He slept almost 3.5 hours this afternoon and has been pretty happy. Hopefully tomorrows the same!

Moving up

Yesterday I said how awesome Iz was doing at reading. Here is the proof! She brought this gem home today.

And Adrian has finally decided to use s sippy cup! All is well in my court today!

Reading

So Isabelle is starting to read at a third grade level now! She is getting really good at her sight words and figuring out ones she doesn't know.
I just needed a brag moment tonight. It excites me!

First birthday

One year ago you came into our lives. You held on as long as you could. We expected you at 28 weeks when my water broke. You surpassed all the odds of what we were told, and read. We were prepared as best we could be. However, nothing prepared us for our journey with you! I was so nervous and scared. Happy and so in love.

Adrian, you shocked us when we were pregnant, and stunned when you tried to come early. You were so strong and brave when you arrived. You were tiny, you were fragile, but we were also so lucky because it could have been so much worse. You were a fighter from day one and still are!

Looking back on your coming home from the NICU to now-you'd never know you were two months early. Your determined to surpass your expectations, and that trait will take you far in life.

Seeing you for the first time and holding your tiny body next to mine was home. This atmosphere was our home for 19 long days. No time in the NICU is good, but we "got lucky" with a "short" stay.

You have everyone wrapped around your tiny fingers. You love to scream dada all day long. You smile at anyone and it brightens up everyone's day. You're a love bug and snuggle in close. To which I will try to keep from you for as long as I can!

You're a warrior. You have mastered getting anywhere you want. You can cruise and walk around the house with a walker! You're still one but on your adjusted age of ten months you're doing phenomenal. We're SO beyond proud of you and so excited to see how much you grow and change in this next year.

Happy birthday to our tiny miracle man. We love you SO much!

State fair 2016

We did the fair scene today. It was fun, long, hot, fun, tasty, grumpy, hot, fun. It was a good day.

Something new for us is they make child ID cards. That was the first thing we did.

It was complete with finger prints and a photo ID!

We explored lots of things. River fish.

River animals

Adrian got bored. Oh I might add that we lost his bottle just before lunch. He didn't have a bottle all day. I managed to keep him at bay with pouch food and a water bottle! He did amazing considering!

We saw horses

Did the mini farm

And snuck a tractor pic! We're all exhausted and I have a killer headache!
