Fault in our stars

I rented this movie today. I'm finishing it now, since I can with no kids awake. It's so good. I want to read the book! 

Even though I don't have anything drastic like this happening in my life-it still makes you think and put things into perspective. 

Today we bought more markers, crayons and paper. I've been out for a while.

Viola got a wild side-and thank god it wasn't with anything permanent!

She then proceeded to herself.

However, after an hour this was smudged all over her face too! 

So even though she did this, I laughed. How can I get mad at something that's so funny! Of course I told her to not color her brother, but paper. She's a creative little artist! Like her sister! 

I can't wait to see how inventive she can be like her big sis. 

I don't have much tonight, except that I'm greatful for what I have and who I have in my life.

Trick-or-Treat

We had our first trick or treat in Indianola. 

There were not many places like this  at all! Made me a little sad. Oh well!

We kicked the night off at grandma Joyce's house! 

Then we went our own way and did our own thing!

They had a small amount of root beer and I drank the Sierra mist! 

They made out pretty well!

Toddler time and trunk or treat. That's our day. 

This toddler time was different than what we've done before.. It's for the kids to run. And after a night of no sleep and little patience-they needed to be there.

It's every Wednesday 

Cost a dollar-but that's ok!

Burns LOTS of energy :-)

It was costume day-Elsa found Anna! 

H kept busy!

And got lots of Jess snuggles! :-)

Tonight we went up to urbandale to a trunk or treat! It wasn't huge, but the girls had fun getting candy.

People deck out their cars for trick or treat! It's neat seeing the different ideas.

Library halloween

So this morning was costume day at story time. Nothing too special, but the kiddos liked it!

We read Duck and Goose find a Pumpkin, did a little rhyme and then a parade. Rather a silent walk around the library to display the costumes!

Waiting to walk...Ya it was that exciting!! 

H is feeling better today. Still not 100% but better! 

This is the book Iz picked out this morning. The stories are as told by the brothers Grimm. She likes the heavy! Tonight we read Sleeping Beauty-she liked it. There are pictures-they're different looking, but she was able to follow right along! Tomorrow night is Snow White!

That's how high Henry's temp got last night. It was that high again at 11 am. I took him back in just to get reassured, and it's still just a virus. The fever part is what kills me. 

We spent a small amount of time outside tonight, and all three were happy! That is hard to achieve!

So in the middle of Henry's huge scream fest tonight, I looked up and Viola was totally passed out on the couch! 

She's exhausted today! 

The girls had a great day! They were busy being artsy! About what I'm not sure!  Kept them busy and happy!

When is it enough

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's my kids being sick! Henry's not been this sick since he was 4 months, and it's killing me. Knowing that all I can do is give it time is so unbearably hard for me! 

So we went straight to the dr this morning. After being up from midnight on, I knew we needed to go. There IS fluid in his ears, but no infection. There is a virus, and I have to wait.

The fever, shakes from the fever goosebumps, ear pulling, coughing and screaming-I have to help him wait it out! I seriously hate this! I get the whole let's try not to medicate until necessary-but still! 

I want my happy, bouncy, silly baby boy back! This kid wants nobody but me and refuses to be set down. I love my snuggles, but I hate sickness! I pray we have a decent night and that he's comfortable. 

For a boy who has never slept like this on me before-speaks volumes to how he feels. For now his 102.1 fever seems to have broken-for now. He's asleep, and let's hope for a while!

Today was the costume parade and trick or treat on the square. Lots of fun! Lots of candy!
