B'fast with cat in the hat

In honor of Dr. Suses birthday this month, the library put on a breakfast with the Car in the Hat. It was free and I can't pass up free and fun! 

We invited my mom and Ava so that's why they stayed over last night. 

Anyway-breakfast was good!

Fruit, muffins, ham

And it was complete with green eggs!

Which nobody but my mom and myself ate. 

The kids met the cat-Henry was terrified and cried if he came near. 

And the things were there, too! 

We ended the day having dinner with the whole family at Ryan's parents. 

There was lots of cooking at the fire place!

First sleep over

We're having our first cousin sleep over at our place tonight. My mom and Ava came down since we have plans early in the morning (that's tomorrow's post). 

We've had more outfit changes than I can count, and lots of sillies coming out.

It's been loud and crazy, but life wouldn't be the same if it wasn't!

The ENT dr

So the ENT appointment wasn't what we thought it would be. At all. I have a very upset husband who tells me we need to get a second opinion. 

So to start Vi was pissed to even be there. She was grumpy. 

They took us into an office and tested the pressure in her ears. Her right ear has negative pressure indicating she still has fluid behind the ear drum. That's all I was told on that. 

Then the doctor came in and looked in her ears. He didn't tell me much that I didn't already know.

Still not happy!

They're giving it six more weeks and only because it's just about spring time! If she keeps them up (as in the infections) then they'll do tubes. 

They did tell me If it was November and she was like this then they'ed do it, no questions. 

They also tested her hearing. Her left ear passed with no issues-her right did not. So we have to get that checked again in six weeks, too. More than likely we will find another ENT clinic to see what they say. Hearing is far more important than anything and making a child suffer is cruel! 

And tonight we have been playing with cheap 97 cent masks from Walmart!

Twins

We really didn't do a whole lot today in thinking we were going to get bombarded with snow. We went to play time as usual and these two spent the majority of their time playing in this.

My proud big boy!!! 

I'm so glad the snow fizzled out! I'm over winter and being stuck inside!!

Static!!!

Mind over matter

I've been playing that game for two weeks! With the kids being sick I feel like if I trick my brain I won't get sick. Seems to be working so far. Besides feeling sick to my stomach all the time (pill side effect), I think I'm doing ok. 

That's what my day looked like other than mounds of laundry!

The kids' new swim suits came today! Only Iz would pose.

And he loves his tooth brush

I'm boring!

ENT Progress

After tons of eye drainage I was certain Viola's antibiotic wasn't working for her ears! Well, I guess I was wrong, because according to the doctor they're 100% clear. There is a pink eye related cold going around, so now we're just on eye drops. 

I did demand the ENT referral, however! I won that battle. I was told that since she's fine now they could say no, and if I waited for the dr to be down here in town, it could be a month-I said that's fine. (My thinking was maybe she'd get another one, and then they couldn't say no. Sounds bad, I know!) 

However-someone cancelled and she goes in this Thursday! I'm glad. Iz never actually had an infection when she was seen up in Ames, so I'll take what I can get! 

She's had a pretty good day-just didn't want to smile. 

This kids ear still has fluid, but is better, so that's good!! He also cut tooth number SEVEN over night! He's busy in that mouth! 

Iz was just her happy self. 

Ryan came home sick from work, so I've had a much calmer night than normal! Nice for a change.

Science center

Oh we surprised the kids big time this afternoon and got a membership to the science center! It seems much more practical than a pool pass and lasts all year! The kids had an absolute blast!

Monkeys

Isabelle's feeling better today, so she was back to her bouncy self while we were at my moms. 

Lots of jumping monkeys 

When we left, however, she got really quiet and even fell asleep going home. I knew something wasn't right. 

Yeah-I had three kids nap today! When we got home, Iz finally told me she felt sick to her stomach. She seems ok now, and later told me she thinks the van made her feel sick. I at least didn't have throw up or have to pull over!! 

We did have some fun playing in a box tonight.
