Henry's first year

Life as a mommy to three kids turned my world up side down. You can never mentally prepare yourself for such a task. Ry and I knew we wanted another kid after Viola-just not as soon as expected.
Henry's pregnancy was smooth. 36 weeks hit and I developed cholostasis-liver enzymes become elevated and it can be fatal to the baby. So after intense, and I mean intense itching (the side effect), he was born at 37 weeks-this time last year!
Even from the day he was born, this boy took my heart and made it grow so much bigger! I was nervous to have a boy, but man I'm so glad we got him!
My weepy baby blues hit before I even left the hospital! I was a sobbing mess, and I remember trying to be ok around Iz but she would hug me and say it's ok. Luckily it only lasted about a week!
The day we brought him home was cold and full of fresh snow. He was a tiny 6lbs 2oz and in a premee outfit! He was the perfect boy...ate all the time, slept all the time, and completed our family.
And by sleep-he slept! A LOT!
He has two VERY protective big sisters. I was nervous about how to split my time between three kids. This was another reason why I opted to pump rather than nurse-the girls took full advantage of that and not always in the best manner. That being said-I figured out what worked for us and we have had our own little routine since.
These three are best buds and have fun together (most of the time).
We have had our ups and quite a few downs with this kid getting sick. From 4 months of age he's kept us on our toes as to what he will have next. That's the age we were first introduced to the nebulizer! Luckily everything's been treatable.
Henry also got to meet Papa Jones before he passed away. Something that will forever be in my mind is this adorable picture. Even though Henry doesn't know it...we all do!
Perfection is hard to achieve, but when I see this face...I knew we hit it dead on. When you have a third kid, you learn to let a lot of things just slide. Sure it's messy in that room and the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a week (GASP!) but, who has time for that when three kids need you at once!
Some of my favorite things in life are being away from my duty calling jobs in the house! I like to capture the moments that my kids are having fun in...and if I have learned one thing this past year...I cannot get worked up. I have to try hardest on most days and it's tough.
These three have each other. Henry loves each of these girls. I can already tell how each relationship is different too.
We are teaching him a lot of things...and obviously we're teaching him good taste early, too!
He is the best baby brother, and I'm so thrilled we have him. I don't think I could have asked for a better tempered baby than him!
I love where our family is as right now, and I'm excited for the next year!

Until tomorrow!
