Paleo

So I've been doing a lot of thinking and I guess for a lack of better terms, soul searching. I'm unhappy with how I feel. I can't say look because that's very broad in an answer and we as women all have our insecurities. 
I have been doing a lot of research on exercise and foods. I found a really neat app called the couch to five k. It's pretty neat and is like a personal trainer. Ryan and I are going to do it. We need more physical activity. More so myself than him, and I told him if he didn't want to participate that he needed to be my rock and support and encourage me. 

The diet side I've been researching a lot because I'm still having issues since my gallbladder came out. I did find that I need a near fat free diet or foods that are 4.5 grams of fat or less. Which leads me to the Paleo diet. 
What is it?
What foods are and aren't?
It's intriguing to me because I don't have to cut out tons. A lot of what we eat is already in this. It's the snacks that get us. It just seems more practice and I'm not looking to diet but change our lifestyle a bit.
