Farm Life

Spending the weekend on a farm was fun. It was awesome to be in so much open space and to see the storms last night at their full capacity (without city lights, tress or houses blocking)! It's also nice to see how much different the life style is. The biggest is getting used to well water (and the smell-both of which don't bother me), and the larger number of bugs. We all had fun though. I can't wait until the farmer who farms the land my parents are on brings the cows back! The kids will really get a kick out of that!
We really didn't know what to do today, so I got creative and took the girls for a ride in the lawn mower ("tractor"). It was like an entire new day over again after that!
She loved it!
Believe it or not, Viola actually helped me steer!!
After we got back to Ames, my mom stayed with the kids for just a bit so Ryan could take me for a ride on his motorcycle! I didn't get a pic, but it was really enjoyable! Makes me miss the days when we could just go do whatever, whenever! 18 more years! :-)
I took the girls to the park after that. Iz begged all day!! They had a good time climbing and getting more energy out!
Iz did a ton of climbing
Viola did a lot if sliding
She finally likes it!
Ryan taught the girls how to peel sweet corn that we had with dinner:
They enjoyed eating it too:
Yummy!
I didn't even realize until after I put him to bed tonight that I didn't get a picture of Henry today. I can tell you he had carrots tonight and seemed to enjoy them...he had apples yesterday and loved those! He has been SUPER chatty and very happy!

Until tomorrow!

Carnival adventures

Productive day? I think-YES!
Since the girls decided to wake up at 530 this morning when Lilly got up-our day started early. However, I refused to open my eyes until 7 am.
At 9 am I made them go outside and play since they were crabby and fighting. I mowed my moms yard, gave Lilly a hose down and brushed her.
This afternoon after naps (which consisted of Henry and Vi) we went into Gladbrook to the carnival rides. A first for all the kids.
Walking around....
Side note-no Iz is actually not picking her nose.
Going up to the top of the big slide
Iz loved it!!
Vi got help, but she loved it too!
Hehe
The girls then rode a lady bug ride. It was quite funny-Viola didn't know what to think at first and we thought she was going to cry. She didn't and was happy!
Iz rode the tiny Ferris wheel all by herself. She was proud....then looked bored...and then I kid you not, she looked like she could have fallen asleep!!
This girl had so much fun and was slightly upset when we ran out of tickets. We were glad. It was too hot!
Henry played in Grammy's exersauxer today and was busy just being cute!
:-)

Until tomorrow!
Iz in route-laughing!

Holy wow

We had an extremely crazy day! I wasn't planning on it, but it was good!
I started out by going to help (more like be support) for my friend Brianne at Methodist. She's 37 weeks pregnant and miss Caylee was sideways-so they did a version to put her head down. It was successful!
My mom watched the girls for me and I took Henry with me! They had fun!!
Pull-up hats? Crazy kiddos!
Hiding
After I got home we headed back here to my moms in Gladbrook! It's their annual corn festival. Tonight we went to their parade! It was a great one too!
It was Henry's first!
The girls got tons of candy (yay??-ya no!)
And saw Cy!
I tried hard to get him off the cart-he only waved! Oh well!
Iz spent the first half with her ears covered. She hated the loud sirens! She warmed right up after they were over!
Vi did lots of dancing-there were a lot of musical floats!
Anywho-it was a fun day and hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow so we can check out more festivities!
Until tomorrow!!
Vi sat in her lap to eat some corn-weirdos :-)

Surprise visit

I didn't get to do much with the kids today-I knew there was a chance of rain, but not an all day let's ruin all possibilities of playing outside type!
I did get laundry done, dishes and kitchen floor cleaned (only due to a spilled cup of milk).
I got a text from my cousin Jake's girlfriend Jenna and they wanted to stop by and see the kids! I didn't tell them, so when the knock in the door came-they were quite excited!
Some of their play time fun:
Yes, Jenna, I stole this pic! Haha

Iz got Jake to play-and he made a fabulous monster! I gave him a crash lesson-say "roar"! :-)
Henry crashed hard while they were visiting-
I think I wore him out working on his sitting up skills! He LOVED doing this!!

So happy! I also let him suck on some of my strawberries tonight. He loved those and threw a fit when I took it away!
Other than this-we didn't do much at all!! Tomorrow will be a different story!

Until tomorrow!
She was so excited to get her light up princess crown back!!

This is annoying

WARNING-this is a mommy vent.
No, we didn't have a bad day, I'm just annoyed at how hard it is to find somewhere to live. I turned in our application this morning for a place in Nevada. It's three bedrooms and being completey redone. It's perfect for what we need at this time in our life!
Then WHY is it annoying. Deposits and rent up front. 1400$ is a little hard to pull out of thin air. I'm annoyed because they won't take half or split or anything...but I'm trying my hardest to see what options we have-and it's somewhat manageable. Other than that-I'm really hoping we can get moved to this place. My focus has turned so much to where we are going because A- I don't want to move again for a while. B- Isabelle will start school in another year and I have to be mindful of that and have her in a great district that actually cares about their students!
I'm ready to get off my soap box. I'm not a fan of venting my feelings on here-so sorry about it-especially the ones that are so blunt and forward, but I feel better after having typed that all out. Maybe you (whoever you are) have been through something like this too?
ANYWAY: after we left Nevada this morning we played at the park. Lots of swinging went on: by all three! :-)
Henry LOVES all this new stuff he's getting to do:

He loved Iz pushing him too! And yes-she wore her summer jammies all day!

We also went to the library after the park. I'm incredibly impressed with myself on this one- we quick ran home to get old library books, I pumped and showered and changed two diapers all in under 30 minutes and that included unloading and re-loading kids into the van!
Did they do toddler time-NO! Viola did baby talk with Henry though! Legos are still by far way more important!
Naps were good-the late afternoon was rough, so I quick made sandwiches and we headed to the park for a picnic dinner! The girls loved it. Henry did too-he clobbered sweet potatoes!
So there-my frustration and day in a nut shell. I'm exhausted and so ready to put my racing mind to bed!

Until tomorrow!
I couldn't resist one more-he's too damn cute!! :-)
