I've been doing a whole lot of thinking on how to type this blog today since I have more than one dad. I don't want to show any sort of favoritism, because I have none, and I don't want to hurt feelings and leave anyone out. I have so many things to say, so here I go.
I've had the opportunity to grow up with two sets of parents. It wasn't always easy. In fact, it was down right hard! I have, however, considered myself lucky. It has given me the chance to see two different parenting styles, two different life styles and what I wanted to look for in the traits of the guy I was going to marry.
This is me and my dad: Dion.
My parents divorced when we were pretty young. I have had rough times with my dad, but we've also over come MANY battles in our life, some of which were hard and some that were not. I'm extremely proud of my dad and the demons he's over come and I'm PROUD to call him my dad!
I know that no matter where life takes either of us, we will always be together in some way, shape or form!
I know this photo is very hard to look at, as Misty is an angle watching over us all now, but she was a huge part of our lives too. Dad, for being single with teenagers-you're doing great! Also, you're an excellent grandpa now too!
This is Bob. He's my other dad. He and my mom have been married for 14 years now! It wasn't always easy having another man in the house, but we made it work. He worked hard to provide for his new family and was a great example for us growing up, too.
Bob and I are venting buddies. We talk a lot about frustrations when we are alone together (which really isn't often), but we get each other and take comfort in that!
He's a great man, awesome grandpa and an extreme protector of my mom!
Ryan is an amazing man. I knew we would have a family right away. We don't see eye-to-eye a lot of times, but we parent our kids the best we know how. He's so in love with his babies! Him and Isabelle above and Viola below.
They say the dad is more for playing and rough housing, rather than changing diapers or giving bottles...a very true fact in our house!
Things are crazy now that Henry is here and we don't get hardly any time together, but when we do, it's nice.
A few of my favorite photos:
My kids love Ryan and cannot get enough of him when he's home. I hope they realize and see just how awesome of a man he really is and love him more for it.
We make this life of ours work. I'm not one to give up on people easily, and my faith in these three men is huge. I love each of you in a way that is special to me since we all have a different type of relationship. I love how each of you has taught me life lessons and how to love and forget.
Happy Father's Day to three amazing men in my life!
Until tomorrow!
