Bullies

I have zero pictures today. Instead I've had a lot on my mind about the whole news world and bullies.
It makes me so sad to hear of people taking their own lives because of bullying. As a parent, I cannot even begin to fathom what that feels like, nor do I ever want to.
From what I read in the news feeds and the comments people make about this issue has really stunned me. "Parents need to teach their kids to have thicker skin and know how to brush it off" is one that has really stood out to me. I get it-that comment yes makes sense-but REALLY is all I can think in my head. Even if you teach your child from day one to be unique, their own person, to not care about what others think-words and actions STILL hurt.
My sister has recently become extremely open (high five Jades) about her life and she is so happy now. Her road here-not so easy and not so happy. She was and still is a victim of bullying. She chose to be proactive and started a sort of support group for the LGBT community at her school (huge high five)! Taking action can work.
I have to question how well some of these plans are really working though within these schools. Why are kids still taking their own lives? I feel like teachers and support staff really need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Knowing that my kids will be there someday terrifies me.
I try as hard as I can on a daily basis to instill into my kids that we love and respect everyone-no matter what! I think for this "epidemic" to get under control parents all over need to instil the same values into their children, rather than shove them off with money or toys or electronics.  Maybe then there wouldn't so much hatred in our society.
I read an article a friend sent me the other day about Bruce Jenner. He was having a talk with Jesus. The article stated simply-would Jesus hate Bruce? It stuck with me as well. Why is it our place to judge? It's not. Simple answer. Whoever your higher power is-that's who will deal with you in the end of things.

As Ellen says everyday at the end of her shows- BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER! It's not hard, we all can achieve something like this.

Until tomorrow

Injuries

Today just wasn't anyone's lucky day. Especially Henry. Poor kid! He fell out of the van (a total accident-but he was totally fine), and I threw open a door into him! It was one of those scenes from a movie-you know where you get hit and fly backwards and fall! Yep! Hit his head hard! I felt terrible!
That's the shiner I gave him...luckily no bumps on the back of his head!
Iz bit Viola out of anger tonight-hard! She has a pretty good sized bruise on her thigh. I feel like when we have rough nights-we really have rough nights! Ugh!! Oh well!
Viola found her silly side, however, and entertained me for a bit with her stickers.
And no-she didn't mute herself-she could still talk! Haha

Until tomorrow!

3 years with Vi

Today is my little sassy pants' third birthday! I don't know where the time has gone. I love this little thing to death!
Viola came home and was the definition of the night baby! I was so sleep deprived at first, but she got over that eventually.
She was my quiet baby for a reason. She was an observer from day one. She also had a bigger plan than I was prepared for!
She was quiet for a reason! This laid back, cute and innocent looking girl slowly but surely turned into the biggest stinker!!
Always ready and with a plan!
She is without a doubt a lover and sweet.
She ADORES her Henry
And admires her sister on a level that includes achieving what she does!
Our lives have been so awesome and ever busy at trying to keep pace with her, but we wouldn't change it!
Happy birthday my sassy princess!!

Until tomorrow!
One of my absolute favorite pictures of the girls!!!

Homemade

I tried my hand at homemade chicken and noodles again today. This time I boiled the noodles and added them when the chicken was done. So much better!!!
Oh, and I added mashed potatoes as well! Not homemade-courtesy of my microwave! Ha

Until tomorrow!

Party day

I'm SO glad the weather turned around for today! We had Viola's party at the park...it was chilly with the wind, but man the kids has a blast!  Much better than last years super stormy weather!!
And Viola was SO excited that it was finally her party day!
She loves all princesses so we had all princesses incorporated into her party decorations!
She was all eyes for her cake the entire time! So she was very happy to finally eat it!
Lover her

We had to move her gifts to the sun so we could warm up!
Iz got a gift too!  Shoes!

Everyone had a blast! We couldn't have asked for a better day!

Until tomorrow!!

Terrible moments

Going to come right out and say it-tonight monster mom was out. I hate these nights. Here's why:
1. I'm ashamed at how mean I can be (even though I'm not trying to be)
2. I hate seeing the kids cry (but how else will they learn a lesson)
3. I hate being the only parent here when crap like this goes down (I need back up because daddy is far scarier than me).
4. I spank and I hate to do it; half the time I get laughed at.
5. I- 9 times out 10- get told I hate you.
How does one overcome these aweful mood swings in kids? If you have an answer please tell me! How do you punish your kids and use them as teachable moments!?
Why are our kids always so good when they're not at home? I took the kids to the farm for a bit this afternoon and they were so good!
They did crafts
The threshold-walking back in our door! I'm not, by any means a perfect parent and I needed to walk away several times tonight and I didn't. I know I make mistakes and I know I did tonight. We parents need each other to lean on and support each other and offer up advice. So here's mine for the night-kids can crap on you over and over, but in the end-if they learn a lesson (tonight's was saying sorry to everyone-even daddy who wasn't even here), we did our job.

Until tomorrow!

Sleepy

This rainy cold weather makes myself and everyone else around me sleepy! Even thought it wasn't raining right away this morning, I had two very sleepy boys! Henry didn't wake up until nearly 8:15! His sisters, however, were chatting up a storm at 6:40!
I'm also very happy to report that since I put the girls' beds together, Viola has stayed in hers and slept all night! This is huge for her! Now we just gotta get that stupid pacifier away!

Until tomorrow!
Sleeping beauties!

Lambs

We went to Lacey's house this morning to meet their lambs! They're so cute!
Iz was in love with them!
Henry just couldn't keep up with them! They loved on him, though!
:-)
Vi didn't like them, so she kind of stayed in the background.  The rest of the time was spent playing with chickens!
Again- Vi didn't dig it.
I'm glad we were just able to get out of the house and play!!

Until tomorrow!

Trying again

So remember how I said that a new pillow for Viola would keep her in her bed all night long!? Well the last two she's woken up at 3 am. I moved the girls' beds around and I hope that with Vi being in a closer proximity to Iz, maybe she'll stay put. It's worth a shot. They love what I did!
Henry was so exhausted tonight (25 min nap was all he decided he needed today), so he became quite the ham tonight!
He does this when he's laughing-in which here he really was!
And he decided the plunger is the next best toy! EW! No thank you, kid!!

Until tomorrow!

Royalty

Had lunch with some local royalty today.

I f let like I was back at square one today. I had a rough afternoon and felt horrible. Somehow eating dinner helped. Weird. Hopefully tomorrow is better!

Until then!
This was a post on my Instagram from real simple magazine. Thought it was pretty funny! Enjoy!!

Bribes

Over night Viola had a really bad bloody nose and woke up covered in dried blood. We had no clue. She ruined her jammies and a pillow, so I had to take her to buy a new pillow. She found the last frozen body pillow and got it. I have told her she can only use it in her big girl bed. I'm so over her sleeping on the couch, so I really hope this bribe works! Wish me luck!
I'm also trying something new in the scentsy warmer;
It smells pretty amazing in here!

Until tomorrow!!

First kick

So I'm 16 weeks today and I have just been waiting and waiting to feel that little nugget in there "kick". Well tonight at dinner I'm almost positive I finally did! Hooray.
I cleaned and cleaned this morning-trying hard to pick up after the kids. I was alone with Henry and while I was in the tub the stinker pulled a fast one on me-literally.
After nearly having a heart attack, I realized he was on the side of the toilet and totally safe-just busy being a huge stinker!
Viola was a HUGE grump-and to my surprise fell asleep this afternoon and took a good nap! Solved her issues!!
Henry loved watching the rain and beating the window. Iz was busy but holy sassy after nap time! I'm very glad it's bedtime!!

Until tomorrow!

Holy wow

We drove up to my moms today and surprised her! She needed a pick me up of kids! We were very successful in our surprise!
We had a great time with Ava and Jaedyn was there, too! The kids played and played outside, pretending to blow away in the wind!
Henry played vaccum!
We drove home in what I like to call "rain wrapped vehicle" type rain! I did get some pretty awesome weather shots!
I love this time of year

Until tomorrow!!

Nugget update

Had a baby doctors appointment today. Wasn't too exciting. The heart beat was a strong 160 something and sounded good!
I got to go shopping today! For me! I finally used my Christmas gift from Ryan's parents! A gift card to Valley West Mall-meaning Motherhood Maternity! 5 shirts and a pair of shorts later I only paid 18 out of pocket!
The shirts were buy three get one free!
And this outfit
I found a pair of shorts at Me-N-Mommy as well! Was a good day for my closet!
Tonight we cheesed it up to cheer Grammy up!

Until tomorrow!
