1. I'm ashamed at how mean I can be (even though I'm not trying to be)
2. I hate seeing the kids cry (but how else will they learn a lesson)
3. I hate being the only parent here when crap like this goes down (I need back up because daddy is far scarier than me).
4. I spank and I hate to do it; half the time I get laughed at.
5. I- 9 times out 10- get told I hate you.
How does one overcome these aweful mood swings in kids? If you have an answer please tell me! How do you punish your kids and use them as teachable moments!?
Why are our kids always so good when they're not at home? I took the kids to the farm for a bit this afternoon and they were so good!
The threshold-walking back in our door! I'm not, by any means a perfect parent and I needed to walk away several times tonight and I didn't. I know I make mistakes and I know I did tonight. We parents need each other to lean on and support each other and offer up advice. So here's mine for the night-kids can crap on you over and over, but in the end-if they learn a lesson (tonight's was saying sorry to everyone-even daddy who wasn't even here), we did our job.
Until tomorrow!
