Egg drop flop

ALL week long all I heard from Iz was "is the egg drop today?"  There was a new event in town where people were going to drop 10.000 eggs from hot air balloons at the balloon fields! Pretty exciting! I was excited to see how it would be done. 

My mom came down with Ian and Ava and his girlfriend and her little boy! It was lots of fun playing and hanging before the big event!

Once we got to the field it was total chaos. There were so many people there that it felt like it was July for the balloon classic! Loud music, bouncy houses and slides and lines that no kid would ever stay content in while waiting! That wasn't such a huge deal. 

They "separated" the egg hunts by age-or at least tried to. We waited a long time and once it was finally time to gather the eggs, there were too many people and not enough eggs. My kids were able to scoop up two eggs each. Iz and Vi were bummed and then I felt bad. But after explaining to them, they were ok. The balloons never happened due to the high winds-no biggie. I only hope next year they're prepared for half the town and not "roughly" 500-1000 people! I'd say there were easily 5-9000 there! Oh well!
