My er visit

A week after Adrian came home from the nicu I woke up around 11 pm one night with a bad stomach pain. It was so bad I could barely walk or nurse him. The way to describe the pain was it felt like a hungry stomach growl that was stuck. It finally went away after about an hour. Flash forward to this weekend, same pain is back but not as severe, but hasn't gone away. That's what I've been dealing with for the last month. A severe pain in my stomach that goes straight through to my back and my right side. I was thinking my gall bladder.
I took action and went to urgent care. They did labs and an X-ray. I was told my white cell count was normal, so no infection but wouldn't have any other results until tomorrow or Tuesday.
I literally walked in the door and the doctor was calling me with my results. My liver enzymes were elevated and that can indicate pancreatitis. I needed to go to the er right away.
So Adrian and I were hanging out at Mercy. They didn't get any of the paper work from down here so I had to get an iv in just in case I needed pain meds or whatever else they were thinking.
Oh I was so thrilled to get this bad boy back! So after this I headed to ultrasound. It was weird not seeing a human on the screen this time.
I was also told by the tech I was the best and easiest patient all day and I was photogenic. Awkward, but ok!
So the doc informed me I have a lot of gall stones and I will need my gall bladder out. The surgeons will call me tomorrow to set that up. Luckily it's a laparoscopic procedure and I go home the same day. For now, I have pain meds for when I need it-remember the pain simply comes and goes, gets bad but not unbearable. I will keep everyone posted! I'm hoping Tuesday it can be done!
Until tomorrow!!
Best onesie gifted to him!!
