Preemie month

November is prematurity awareness month. It's paired with a purple ribbon like breast cancer is with pink. I have a group I follow on Facebook that is giving daily facts all month long. I have seven to share:

We are the one in eight. It's weird to be an actual statistic. 

I'm very, very glad we're NOT in this one! I feel so sad and helpless for those who are. 

I was an unknown. Why did my water break? We'll never know. 

Thankfully, we have no symptoms indicating this. 

And today's:

It's really eye opening with each fact I read. It brings me back to our experience like it was yesterday. In a sense I miss the safeness that came with being in the nicu. I miss the nurses who cared for Adrian everyday. We owe them so much. 

I'm forever greatful we got as lucky as we did. My hope is to stay this lucky through the winter!
